A FREE WEBINAR ABOUT

The European Pressure Equipment Directive: differences between European and American requirements -
Codes and Standards that can be used with the PED

WHEN

Wednesday, October 5, 11.00 AM CEST

WHY

We are receiving a lot of questions (mainly from non European manufacturers) about the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive and the codes and standards that can be used with it. It is true that also non European standards (such as the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code) may be used with the PED, however there are many problems that need attention, because of the differences between American and European normative and legislative requirements. Responsibilities and duties of the parties involved (manufacturers, users and inspection authorities) are also different, so that the meaning of an ASME stamp is not the same as the meaning of a CE-mark.

THE SPEAKER

Dr. Fernando Lidonnici has more than 40 years experience in Pressure Vessel Design and Analysis. He is ASME member since 1984, and Convenor of WG ”Design” of CEN TC54 (Unfired Pressure Vessels) since 1990. In the years 1998-2004 he has been President of the Italian Association of Pressure Vessel Manufacturers (UCC/Anima). He has been Consultant of the European Commission for the preparation of the Pressure Equipment Directive.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

All Pressure Equipment engineers who have to design, specify material requisitions, approve or inspect Pressure Vessels, Boilers, Piping and Safety Devices in accordance with the requirements of the PED
