On-line course on the design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers

After two successful sessions of our new on-line courses on the design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers in Italian language (in October and November this year), we are preparing the English language edition of the on-line design course.

It will take place in the first months of 2021 and it will cover the following topics:

Module 1

-General concepts and methods of mechanical design of pressure equipment

Module 2

-Mechanical design of pressure vessels under internal and external pressure
-Mechanical design of flanged connections

Module 3

-Thermal design of shell and tube heat exchangers
-Mechanical design of shell and tube heat exchangers

Module 4

-Designing for loads other than pressure
-Fatigue calculation

Our design courses have become a milestone in the professional training of Italian design engineers and all professionals involved in designing or checking pressure equipment. More than 1,000 people have attended the courses over the years.

The Speaker of the course is an European expert on pressure equipment design, Dr. Fernando Lidonnici,  who is the Coordinator of the European workgroup TC54-WG53, which developed the design part of EN 13445, ASME Member and President of EPERC (European Pressure Equipment Research Council). In 2018 he was awarded the Donald Julius Groen Prize from IMechE, the British Institution of Mechanical Engineers, for his activity in the field of European Pressure Vessel Norms.
