From software development to design of heat exchangers:
Sant’Ambrogio stands for competence and unique skills

Sant’Ambrogio is an ISO 9001 certified company employing a team of engineers and technicians who share the common goal of providing a high level of service and superior qualityCompetence and expertise are guaranteed by the know-how acquired over the years by the long-term membership in associations such as the CTI (Comitato Termotecnico Italiano) and collaboration with leading companies such as HTRI. Sant’Ambrogio is representing HTRI in Italy providing technical support to all Italian users.

Users of our software

Sant’Ambrogio’s software packages for code calculations of pressure vessels and heat exchangers are used  by most Italian and by many European and extra-European pressure vessels manufacturers, engineering companies and Notified Bodies.

Our experience at the service of the European Commission

ENEL ARCHIMEDE PRIMA CENTRALE A TECNOLOGIA SALI FUSISant’Ambrogio takes  part   to  CEN/TC 54  works by running on behalf of CTI the  Convenorship of WG ‘53’, the working group which has drafted Part 3 (“Design”) of the Harmonised Standard on Unfired Pressure Vessels (EN 13445).

Sant’Ambrogio took part in the European research project “Design by Analysis” coordinating the ”Envelops“ research project for the validation of the calculation methods contained in the EN 13445. Sant’Ambrogio participated in the “Comparative Study” project, which has compared EN 13445 and ASME VIII div.1, basing on a series of benchmark examples, i.e. pressure vessels designed both to EN and ASME (comparing also the manufacturing costs of both alternatives). For all calculations performed in the Comparative Study Sant’Ambrogio’s software was used. Through conferences and seminars Sant’Ambrogio promotes the use of the EN 13445 harmonised standard, explaining its advantages with regard to existing national standards.

During 2010 Sant’Ambrogio has designed the solar steam generation module of the power station of Priolo (Siracusa, Italy). This was one of the first solar plants in the world using melted salts as heat transfer fluid.
